she’s got funk

I saw Janelle Monae perform when I was in Atlanta, Georgia a few years ago. She sang one song in Big Boi’s Ballet Show (yes, Big Boi from Outkast did a ballet show!).  Crazy hip hop ballet fusion – the concept blew my mind for sure. It was a great show and unforgettable experience.

I love how she’s set her own style.

a bit of sxsw

Austin, Texas has been alive and kickin’ for the past week and half due to SXSW festivities. I caught some interactive festivities and a few free music performances.

The thing I love most about SXSW — the foreign people. No doubt about it.

Some interesting photos I caught:

Just walking down the street and bumped into her. She's sweet.

LIGHTS -- She's so sweet.

@ Perla's Seafood and Oyster Bar

Crab Florentine @ Perla's. Finally decided to eat meat again, but slowly sneaking back in with seafood first.

Met Little Lebowski this weekend. He just recently learned how to walk again.

There was a vendor on SoCo that sold old hand decorated telephones. What a splendid idea.

Good morning friends!

This is OK GO’s new video for their song “This Too Shall Pass.”

I’m impressed because this is perfectly executed! Imagine how much practice and time they dedicated to this. And well, the end result is just amazing.

I advise you to open the video in another window for full effect!

It’s Grind Time

Found this gem on one of my favorite blogs Doobybrain.com.

Nobody Beats the Drum, a Dutch electro group, creates a stop-motion video for their song “Grindin’.” It took 4085 photos of colored blocks to create this lovely eye candy overload.
