oh paris

“Sitting there, alone in a foreign country, far from my job and everyone I know, a feeling came over me. It was like remembering something I’d never known before or had always been waiting for, but I didn’t know what. Maybe it was something I’d forgotten or something I’ve been missing all my life. All I can say is that I felt, at the same time, joy and sadness. But not too much sadness, because I felt alive. Yes, alive. That was the moment I fell in love with Paris. And I felt Paris fall in love with me…….”

[From Paris, Je t’aime. ]

Everything now and then I pop this movie in (and Amelie) because it makes me happy. Why? Because both movies highlight the good in people and I’m a firm believer that there is an angel in everyone.

I’ve been to Paris once. Stayed there for three days and that was such a tease. Everyone’s right — you fall in love with this place, especially at night. Today I watched Anthony Bourdain do an episode in Paris and that just gave me more reason to miss the beautiful city. Below is a photo of my friend Linda and I in the incredible garden of Versailles.

  1. Awesome blog sister Tran! did you take this picture?

    • No, I wish I had taken it. I only had a Point and Shoot when I was in Europe! But, next time I’ll bring something a little fancier.
